# Dashboard Customization

> Learn how to customize your dashboard layout, add new elements, and manage metrics in Databrain.

## Prerequisites

* A **Workspace** with at least one existing **Dashboard**
* Metrics already added to the **Dashboard**

## Open the Dashboard

Navigate to the **Dashboard** you want to customize within your workspace.

## 1. Customize Layout

* Click the **“Dashboard Settings”** icon and select **“Customize Layout”** option.
* Once in customize mode, you can freely rearrange dashboard elements. Click and drag charts or tiles to reposition them on the grid layout. Adjust the size of each component by dragging its borders.
* (Optional) Use the **“Adjust Spacing”** option to ensure proper spacing between elements.
* Click **“Save Layout”** once you’re done to preserve your updated arrangement.

## 2. Adding Elements

* Click on the **“+ Elements”** option near the + Metric button.
* Choose the element type:
  * **Custom Text Box:** Section separators to group relevant metrics under distinct categories
  * **Metric Summary:** Automatically generate AI-powered summaries of selected metrics
  * **Metric Expression:** Create custom calculations for Single-Value Card elements
* Configure the properties of the element and click on **“Save”**.

## 3. Manage Metrics

* Click on the **“Dashboard Settings”** icon and click on the **“Manage Metrics”** option.
* Check or Uncheck the metrics to include or remove them from the dashboard.
* If unchecked, the metrics will appear as **Unpublished Metrics**.
