# Tree Map

> Set up a Tree Map chart for hierarchical breakdown.

A Tree Map shows **hierarchical data** as nested rectangles. Size reflects the measure; grouping reflects dimensions.

## Data Requirements

* One or more **dimensions** (for hierarchy/grouping)
* One or more **measures** (for rectangle size)

## How to Set Up

1. Create a metric with dimensions and measures.
2. Click the **Charts** icon and choose **Tree map**.
3. Under **Required Axis**:
   * **Metrics**: The measure(s) for rectangle size.
   * **Group by** / dimensions: Define the hierarchy.

## Configuration

Tree Map uses pivot-style configuration. Set which dimensions form the hierarchy and which measures determine size in the chart properties panel.
